Community-Based Diversion
East Alabama Right Step Transitions
East Alabama Right Step Transitions offers treatment for juveniles in Chambers, Clay, Coosa, Cleburne, and Randolph counties who are at risk of commitment to the Department of Youth Services. The staff meets with the youth individually at school or with the youth and his/her family in the home.
Common areas of need include coping skills related to trauma, education, basic living skills, and positive parenting skills. Family counseling addresses relational issues and provides support to both client and family. The program also offers a weekly parent support group utilizing evidence-based material to strengthen the parents’ skills and build more stability in the home.
