Al Wright selected for Spirit of Recovery Award
Each year the Drug Education Council of Mobile sponsors the Spirit of Recovery Awards breakfast. This ceremony recognizes those professionals in the field of substance abuse treatment whose efforts in the community personify the hope and opportunity of recovery. This year’s award from The Bridge went to Al Wright. Al has worked as a therapist in both outpatient and residential for seven years. The following was submitted for his nomination: When I think about individuals who epitomize the spirit of recovery, Al Wright immediately comes to mind. As a Counselor for The Bridge since 2002, Mr. Wright has served our clients with the utmost dedication and integrity. Mr. Wright has worked tirelessly, passionately, creatively and enthusiastically to help our clients establish a recovery-centered lifestyle. Although this field is often wrought with anxiety, uncertainty and fear of the future, Mr. Wright proves that there is also kindness, generosity and love to balance out the scales. He is living proof that obstacles can be overcome, new insights gained and joy found. Our clients are optimistic in the face of great obstacles because they have Mr. Wright as their Counselor. The Bridge is grateful to Mr. Wright for all he does day after day and year after year to provide hope, encouragement and support to adolescents suffering from addiction. Congratulations Al and thank you for your service! |
