Kim graduated from The University of Alabama in 2007 with an Educational Specialist Degree in Counselor Education and in 2005 with a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the Alabama Board of Examiners since 2008. She is an LPC supervisor and provides ongoing supervision in obtaining licensure for approved ALC applicants. She is an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (AADC) with AADAA. She has also achieved Level II status with MIA-STEPS (Motivational interviewing).
Kim has spoken at various conferences on topics including individualized Client Care, Treatment Team Approaches, and Motivational interviewing utilizing the Stages of Change. She has assisted in developing clinical practices within the electronic medical records system for the company, and provides ongoing support and training for users. She has provided clinical supervision and training of clinical staff and local college interns. She has also participated in training programs at CrossPoint Community Church teaching lay counselors, where she served as a mentor and trainer. Her training and previous employment includes private practice, IOP with adults, residential treatment with adult females, and methadone maintenance.
Kim joined The Bridge in 2001 as a DYS Counselor. She returned to The Bridge in 2005 as a Therapist, and her tenure also included the positions of Program Manager, Lead Therapist, Clinical Coordinator, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Coordinator. In her current position as Quality Assurance Coordinator, she continues to oversee implementation and training for the electronic medical records system while also leading our quality assurance and performance improvement programs.
