Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Specialist -QA/PI Specialist
Job Responsibilities
  • Participates in and helps facilitate the Quality Assurance / Performance Improvement committee to facilitate the development, coordination and implementation of performance improvement initiatives and facilitates regular evidence-based discussions with committee to ensure decision-making is based on insights from data analysis
  • Audits predetermined samples of active and inactive files for both residential and off-site programs and services, maintaining adherence to relevant documentation standards and provides corresponding summary reports of audit results and activities
  • Collects, inputs, analyzes and interprets descriptive statistical data and prepares relevant monthly, annual and other reports related to audits, quality assurance initiatives, and performance improvement activities
  • Produces timely reports of progress toward performance measures through detailed reports for management
  • Interviews and surveys other colleagues and management teams to determine opportunities for improvement; researches specific issues and develops detailed recommendations to the Quality Assurance Committee and implementation plans
  • Creates detailed timelines for outcome initiative; assesses and tracks project progress regularly using various computer programs and tools; and communicates data to Performance Improvement Director that will be used in maintaining accountability measures
  • Collaborates with directors, program coordinators, and managers to create a sustainable data development strategy for the collection, organization, and management of data that meets The Bridge’s analytical needs
  • Applies expertise in research methodology to conceive and carry-out ad hoc research projects to meet specific information needs and inform strategic planning
  • Provides outcomes data useful to inform leadership for strategic planning and decision-making purposes, and applies excellent verbal skills to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences easily
  • Maintains knowledge of current and emerging trends and developments in the field
  • May assist in oversight of other technical and clerical staff, or student interns or researchers
Required Skills
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, public policy, applied mathematics, computer science, statistics or related field.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in the field of substance abuse/mental health treatment, public administration, business, performance measurement, program evaluation, data analysis, educational research or evaluation, or related field.
  • Ability to examine available data, identify information needs and set a data development agenda for the outcomes program.
  • Familiarity with research design and program evaluation.
  • Strong project planning skills and understanding of processes and tools used for performance measurement and project management.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of information, including the ability to organize large amounts of data and track multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities for analysis and use in consultation with numerous stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to contribute additively to discussions, drawing upon expertise to influence group outcomes.
  • Cultural sensitivity in working with internal and external consumers including clients, staff, volunteers, referral agents, vendors, community organizations, etc.
  • High level of integrity, dependability, and honesty
  • Valid Alabama driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Effective time management skills
  • Effective computer skills including: Word, Excel, Outlook
