Driver/Treatment Aide - Carrollton
Job Responsibilities
  • Transport clients to and from the Day programs
  • Transport clients to medical, educational and other appointments in a safe, courteous, and timely manner as directed
  • Assists passengers, when necessary, in and out of the vehicle
  • Constant and immediate supervision of program clients during assigned times and provides a communication link between clients and staff
  • Responds immediately to accident or medical emergencies by notifying emergency response providers, and rendering First Aid until emergency personnel arrive
  • Intervention in instances of client violation of program rules or safety regulations using approved methods.
  • Ensure roadworthiness of vehicles by coordinating the schedule for major or periodic vehicle maintenance with management and staff to minimize service interruptions
  • Fuels the assigned vehicle
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, client transportation forms, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested from management.
  • Keeps assigned vehicle(s) clean inside and outside
  • Performs Treatment Aide duties as needed
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or GED accredited by the proper regional board         
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Valid Alabama driver’s license and acceptable driving record with proof of personal vehicle insurance
  • Safely operate 8-12 passenger van
  • Maintains defensive driving
  • Reads and interprets maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route service for clients, and reads and interprets road signs in English.
  • Effective time-management skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Serves as a positive role model while providing transportation service.
  • Cultural sensitivity in working with internal and external consumers including clients, staff, volunteers, referral agents, vendors, community organizations, etc.
  • Effective stress management/composure
