Youth Care Worker, Montgomery, AL
    Job Responsibilities                                                                                            
  • Provide support and inspiration to the client and their family, promoting positive goal-directed behaviors and values
  • Encourages clients and their family to make positive and constructive decisions
  • Provide one-on-one mentoring to clients and their families through face-to-face meetings
  • Transport clients and or their family to medical, educational, and other appointments in a courteous and timely manner as directed, following all procedures and protocols for safety and security
  • Work as a part of a team in conjunction with the Program Manager, staff and community agencies to help clients reenter community
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with treatment community, juvenile probation department, and other necessary and authorized agencies
  • Consult with other staff regarding appropriate mode of treatment and interventions with clients
  • Supervision of clients during Community Service Projects or incentive programs
  • Ensure roadworthiness of vehicles by coordinating the schedule for major or periodic vehicle maintenance with management and staff to minimize service interruptions
  • Fuels the assigned vehicle, maintains accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, client transportation forms, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested from management.
  • Keeps assigned vehicle(s) clean inside and outside
  • Complete clinical documentation in accordance with Bridge Inc. Policy and Procedures.
  • Assist as directed with drug screens, electronic monitoring, admissions of new clients, discharge planning, and treatment planning.
  • Perform clerical and other duties as required.
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or GED accredited by the proper regional board, some college preferred         
  • High level of integrity, dependability, and honesty
  • Ability to express ideas and directives clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Effective time-management skills
  • Serve as a positive role model while providing transportation service.
  • Cultural sensitivity in working with internal and external consumers including clients, staff, volunteers, referral agents, vendors, community organizations, etc. 

Other Job Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Valid Alabama driver’s license and acceptable driving record with proof of personal vehicle insurance
  • Maintain defensive driving and safely operate 8-12 passenger van
  • Read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route service for clients, and reads and interprets road signs in English
