Job Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Program Security                                                                                
  • Support clients throughout the daily schedule of activities including meals, education, recreation, group time, and sleeping hours.
  • Consult and collaborate with clinical and medical staff.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, families and coworkers.
  • Intervention in instances of client violation of program rules or safety regulations using approved methods.
  • Conduct basic living skills group and assist with activities -as required.
  • Perform head counts of clients at required intervals.
  • Conduct program safety and security checks during shift as directed.
  • Assist in conducting intake and outtake of clients.
  • Serve as point of contact for assigned shift as required or requested by Program Coordinator or his/her designee.
  • Provide transportation if needed for clients 
Instruction and Training                                                                         
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and in-service meetings as required. 
  • Clerical Duties                                                                                             
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, of activities and incidents as required by procedures
  • Perform basic clerical activities related to daily operations of program. 
Other Essential Functions                                                                                           
  • Being on time for all scheduled shifts and willing to stay beyond the scheduled time if needed.
Required Skills
 
  • High school diploma or GED accredited by the proper regional board
  • Secure CPR and First Aide certification within thirty (30) days of the date of hire and maintain
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to model appropriate behaviors
  • High level of integrity, dependability, and honesty
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Cultural sensitivity in working with internal and external consumers including clients, staff, volunteers, referral agents, vendors, community organizations, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of adolescent growth and development. Particularly pertaining to youths with a history or substance abuse
  •  Effective stress management/composure 
  • Other Job Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Valid Alabama driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Safely operate 8-12 passenger van

Shifts are: 6 a.m.-2 p.m.; 2 p.m.-10 p.m..; 10 p.m.-6 a.m.
